What to do when you have an artist, a lawyer, a banker, and a scientist living in a 200 sq. yard house? You design a very careful and functional house that serves the purpose of its diverse group of inhabitants.

Saad Rasheed has a big family, hence requiring more rooms on a small piece of land. The surroundings of the area are all built-up edge to edge with the possibility of light coming in being too less.

We created three levels – in them, 5 rooms, 2 kitchens, a drawing-room, and a lounge area. A single car park was also carved out.

Since the house was locked up from all sides, we made the natural light come in from the top so that the house is well lit from the inside during the daytime. Screens installed in the front mean there is ample air flowing towards the house with adequate privacy.

This project had been an interesting study regarding the construction techniques since cost and space utilization was of prime importance.
