Twin Lake Farmhouse serves as a retreat from the frenetic urban life of Karachi, into the tranquil lands of Gharo, Thatta.

Commissioned by two full-time academics, the architecture is designed to help free the mind from everyday stress by creating a rejuvenating atmosphere.

Two brick walls connect the main house and the outhouse and become a datum and guiding element. They provide privacy between the two and form a courtyard between them.

Volume placement respects the natural landscape and allows immersion into the natural beauty of the scene. Furthermore, activities like vegetable and flower gardening help create a haven in the countryside and a space to disengage from the fast life of the city.
